Another fun and friendly evening with Wey Valley again stepping up to host (well done to Sarah Gregory) even though it wasn't our own pool! A little slow at times as the old blocks were very wobbly and the gala kept having to be stopped to get them tightened or mostly just wedged with paper!
First places from Lara Davison in the Open 100m Free, Mark Tuddenham in U16 100m Backstroke, Girls Open Medley relay team (Ellen Attwood, Alice Walker-Earwicker, Lara Davison, Sam Tuddenham) and Boys U16 Free relay team (Alex Taylor-Rose, Oliver Taylor-Rose, Josh Taylor-Rose, Mark Tuddenham). These and the excellent thirteen 2nd place swims meant Wey Valley had seventeen 1st or 2nd places out of the 53 events.
With only two open boys and three U16 boys the older boys all had to work hard especially Mark Tuddenham (14 yrs) swimming up as Open and Ollie Taylor-Rose (13yrs) swimming up as U16. It also meant we nearly had a full Taylor-Rose team for boys U16 relays with Alex, Josh and Ollie swimming!
There were 15 Personal Bests out of the 36 individual swims and 10 other swims within 0.5 sec of a PB. Two Club Records were broken - previous CR in ():
