Held at Guildford Spectrum on 21/06/09

The SYG swimming team for Guildford was 11 swimmers from Wey Valley:
Year 5 (U10): Imogen Wilkinson, Harvey Doran, Maria Hardy, Nicholas Esselen, Kate Hall, Lara Hinkley
Year 6 (U11): Shauna Penfold, Callum Black, Alex Kearsey, Nicola Black, Luke Robinson

The Guildford team was put together by Jeni Colbourne who also, through her role with the Surrey ASA, ran the Swimming event in this year's SYG and supported by coach Kate Steele. Wey Valley's chief official Trevor Marshall was referee on the day and numerous Wey Valley parents were there as helpers, some as their first experience of helping and some progressing their Judge qualifications.

Great swims by all meant the U10 Guildford team came 2nd and the U11 Guildford team came 3rd giving Guildford overall first place out of 7 teams and winning gold medals. There were 12 individual PBs from the 16 swims and these PBs have been added to the Wey Valley PB database.
