Wey Valley Swimming Club

A full coach of Wey Valley swimmers made their way to Bognor Regis for the 2012 Gemini Trophy gala. Each club had two lanes and the cumulative points from both lanes gave the overall club results. From the 2011 results Alton were the highest seed in this gala, then Eastleigh and then Bognor.

Thanks to the whips everyone was in the right place at the right time ...even if a few events were a bit of a panic! Some great swims so early in the year with 2 Club Records broken and 39 Personal Bests swum from a total of 80 individual swims.

Luke Edwards claimed 3 PBs, a CR in the 50m Freestyle and gained our only 1st place in the U16 50m back with Mark Tuddenham in very close second place. Other second places were from Luke in his 50m free and 50m fly (with Mark in 3rd place 0.27seconds behind improving on his own U16 CR), Jack Porter in his 50m back while Natasha Gregory achieved second place in all three of her swims.

• Amy Barber claiming 3 Personal Bests, bettering her 50m Breaststroke PB by over 10 seconds.
• Chloe Walter 100m Breaststroke taking over 4 seconds off her Personal Best
• Chan Thilakawardana 50m Breaststroke
• Nic Esselen 50m Breaststroke
• Rachel Jenkins 50m Butterfly
