Stoodley Cup Results

The annual Stoodley Cup girl’s gala took place at Godalming leisure centre last Saturday, and the exciting news is that Wey Valley were the overall winners!

Our team performed fantastically well and there was a great team spirit and sense of excitement as we fought our way to victory!

There were winning relay team performances from our U15 medley team (Abi Garner, Hebe Poole, Eloisa Smaller, Connie Young) and our Open freestyle team (Ellie Din, Naila Farage-O’Reilly, Olivia Giles and Esme Newbury), as well as outstanding individual performances from Lottie Quinn (U11 backstroke), Emily Jarman (U11 breaststroke), Heidi Jopson (U12 butterfly) and Ellie Ashworth (U12 breaststroke), who all won their races in personal best times!

Of the 23 individual races, 20 of our swimmers swam personal best times ! You can’t ask for more than that, especially as many of our swimmers were doing multiple events, with 5 or more swims in one evening!

Well done to all of our “PB” swimmers - Maia Bentley (2 PBs), Hebe Poole (2 PBs), Ariana Leon-Ayarza (2 PBs), Lottie Quinn, Esme Newbury, Emily Jarman, Ellie Ashworth, Charlotte Armstrong, Connie Young, Ellie Din, Scarlett Whitehead, Heidi Jopson, Mary Taylor, Gemma Spencer, Lily Kilgannon and Abi Garner.

Congratulations to all of our girls – they did the club proud!! :-)
