WEY VALLEY
Swimming Club

15 Jun 2018

The first round of the 2018 Rother League series was held at the the Hart Leisure Centre last Saturday evening, which was an event co-hosted by Wey Valley. Thanks again to all the officials and volunteers who helped out (some at very short notice!) to make this a very well-run and successful event.

Hart Swimming Club were an excellent team and comfortably won the event, but we came a very creditable second, with our boys and girls swimming an amazing 26 personal bests out of 34 individual events!

Particular congratulations to Liam Androne, Sam Liddell and Harry Quinn, who each swam 2 PBs! Our other PB swimmers were Jess Towers, Matt Danton, Scarlett Whitehead, Danny Saunders, Felix Abel, Duane Godfrey, Gemma Spencer, Lottie Quinn, Maia Bentley, Lily Maguire, Lilia Moore, Nicky Coutts, Sibella Colton, Grace Anderton, Dom Ascough, Emily Jarman, Dougie White, India Steer, Hope Mepham and Alex Gale. Nice work everybody!

It was especially exciting to see 4 of our individual swimmers win their races, so very well done to Duane Godfrey, Dom Ascough, Lilia More and Harry Quinn, who gave us all plenty to cheer and came home in front!

We also had a winning relay team, with our under-15 boys 4 x 25m freestyle team doing the business! Well done to Liam Androne, Joe Colton, Felix Abel and Nicky Coutts!

The Rother League round 2 takes place on June 23rd at Godalming Leisure Centre, so please come along to support our swimmers!
